- M.L.E Chapter 64: Saint Candidate (Part 2)
After obtaining the consent of the two, a short while later, in accordance with the agreement, three individuals emerged from the light of teleportation.
Two men and one woman.
However, as I examined their information, I couldn’t help but narrow my eyes.
[Ian Jeremy / Aura master]
Age: 49
Affiliation: Freeus Republic Revolutionary Army / 1st Commander of the Mobile Strike Unit
[Grace Declen / Aura master]
Age: 38
Affiliation: Freeus Republic Revolutionary Army / 3rd Commander of the Mobile Strike Unit
All the escorts were Aura masters.
In other words, in the organization called the Revolutionary Army, I saw only three Aura masters.
Considering that many countries have fewer than two Aura masters, the power of the revolutionary army seemed excessively overwhelming in this shadowy forces.
But that wasn’t all.
[Isara Oscar Freeus/ 7th Circle Archmage]
Race: Human
Age: 27
Affiliation: Freeus Republic Revolutionary Army / Revolutionary Army Commander / Heir to the (former)
Freeus Royal Family
Talents: Magic Power (Very-high), Intellectual Ability (Very-high), Learning Ability (Very-high), Political Power (High), Administrative Power (High), Command Power (Medium)
Traits: Strategist of Justice, Artifact Craftsman
Relationships: Interested/Neutral
Status: Observation
Excluding Arcia, among the individuals I observed through the Glasses, the most formidable figure was Michael, the Crown Prince of the Reinhart Royal Family.
However, the person in front of me was a monster who was not at all inferior to Prince Michael.
At the age of 27, an Archmage and a commander of the revolutionary army, including three Aura masters.
Not forgetting his composure, I narrowed my eyes and raised my guard.
Approaching us under the escort of Aura masters, he spoke.
“Oh, I’m from Prius, but it’s my first time in the northern icy region. Unfortunately, the Aurora didn’t appear? I heard the aurora in the northern part of the Freeus Republic is rainbow-colored, so I was curious, but it’s a pity.”
His appearance was not particularly remarkable.
You couldn’t call him handsome, but he wasn’t ugly either.
His demeanor gave more of a sharp image that might go well with a sarcastic smile rather than a benevolent feeling.
Considering his black hair and eyes, doesn’t he have blood from the Triton Continent?
With mischievous eyes, he approached with a seemingly kind smile.
However, instead of being reassured by his smile, a sense of wariness overwhelmed me.
He was a curious figure in various ways.
“Nice to meet you. Earl Acres, Lady Mechelle Otis.”
Approaching while chattering to himself, he greeted Acres and Mechelle.
Knowing the identities of the two, dispatching a rescue team in times of crisis indicates significant information-gathering skills.
“Thank you for saving us. We will never forget this favor for the rest of our lives.”
“Truly grateful.”
Although Arcia and I ultimately drove away the enemies, but without their help, these two might have lost their lives a long time ago.
It was only natural to express gratitude in this manner.
“Well, isn’t it the right thing to do as a human being?”
Probably not out of propriety but due to hidden intentions.
Then, continuing, the gaze of the revolutionary army commander named Isara Oscar turned towards me and Arcia.
“It’s quite an honor to meet someone so famous these days in a place like this. Lord Adrian Lawrence, Viscount Arcia Klein.”
“Huh….”
“Oh, I apologize for surprising you. However, Lord Lawrence and I are mutual followers. Haha!”
I never expected to hear my name mentioned by him. It must be something beyond the level of information gathering.
“Huh? Lord Lawrence and Viscount Arcia? really?”
Acres, who was more surprised by our identities than anyone else, asked Lady Otis if it was true, and she had to awkwardly laugh while looking at the Earl who acted in a way that didn’t quite fit his age, pleading if it was true.
“Uncle, shh.”
I shrugged my shoulders and removed the mask and robe I was wearing. There was no point in hiding our faces when everything was already revealed.
“Why are figures from the Second Prince’s faction here?”
“Uncle, that is not important right now?”
Acres, who was oblivious to the situation, was pinched by Lady Otis. My identity was exposed, so Arcia also removed the mask and robe she was wearing.
Perhaps due to Arcia’s excessively charming appearance, reminiscent of something you’d see on television, there were slight expressions of admiration from Isara, the revolutionary army commander, and his male Aura masters.
“How did you discover us?”
“It’s a corporate secret.”
A playful expression filled with mischief resembled the clown mask I had just taken off. His speech and expression seemed like acts to conceal his true identity.
Even though we had already removed our masks, he was still wearing his, which didn’t make sense.
So, I recited a spell to remove his mask.
“Your Majesty Isara Oscar Freeus, you’re quite the mischievous man.”
-A twitch.
A rapidly changing expression.
Playfulness disappeared from his face, and the corners of his eyes, which had been curving upwards, became sharp.
He was the legitimate son of the old royal family that only maintained its name.
“I’m quite surprised. How do you know about me?”
“It’s a corporate secret.”
Tit for tat.
He smirked, and as I revealed his identity, his bewildered guards belatedly drew their swords.
It was as if they were saying that they couldn’t protect his identity anymore.
But we had a problem with this either.
Arcia drew her sword, and Acres also drew his weapon, supporting me against the revolutionaries.
A pointless confrontation.
If a battle were to break out like this, both sides would only suffer losses without gaining anything.
“Now, now, calm down,” Commander Isara said, calming his subordinates and sorting out the situation.
Then, he sighed deeply and took out several chairs from a pocket dimension.
“Please, have a seat for now.”
As I had become the protector of Acres and Lady Otis, I became curious about this gentleman’s intentions. So, without military formalities, I sat down facing him, and others followed suit, taking their seats discreetly.
“I had a hunch about recognizing your identities from the beginning. A male archmage and a female Aura master pair. It was nothing more than a guess based on your youthful voices.”
Does that mean I was a fool and fell for it?
I chuckled in bewilderment.
“Then, would you kindly explain how you figured out my identity?”
“I’ve always been interested in the Freeus Republic, and in your revolutionary army.”
They had never officially declared themselves as the revolutionary army. Therefore, my words implied that I am truly aware of them.
‘Of course, it’s just a bluff.’
But my bluff seemed to work effectively, as the revolutionaries regarded me with caution, their expressions tense, as if I were a dangerous figure.
“Now, let’s stop the mind games and get to the point.”
I had no obligation to convince them, so I cleanly ignored their curiosity.
Commander Isara of the revolutionary army shrugged his shoulders with a defeated expression.
“It seems we can’t fathom the depth of the Marquis’ tricks. He’s someone we absolutely don’t want as an enemy.”
“If you haven’t done anything wrong to me, there’s no reason for us to be enemies.”
“Yes, let’s be careful.”
Following that, Commander Isara revealed the true purpose behind inviting us to this meeting.
“Lady Otis.”
“Yes, Commander.”
With a very serious expression, he asked,
“You copied the research data of Archduke Lucas from the terminal Gear, didn’t you?”
Although we referred to it as a fake Lucky Encounter, I duplicated a significant number of features to pass on to Louis Fairmont to avoid suspicion.
Most of the data was of low importance, but it was still information left behind by Archduke Lucas. Its value could not be underestimated.
