Reincarnated With the Book of Knowledge - RWBK Chapter 104 Trash
In the world of pirates, the revolutionary army was actually quite rudimentary – just a group of strong individuals united by a shared dream to overthrow the celestial dragons.
Currently, the revolutionary army is in a phase of development. Their approach is to send their cadres to various parts of the world to gather recruitments and wait for the right moment to launch a revolution.
While Rhodes revered personal strength, he didn’t shy away from building a team. His subordinates were useful, as evidenced by their handling of the Black Dragon’s drops. Without people like Gates, finding the right blacksmith or a carpenter would have been a waste of time.
Though the Baroque Works organization wasn’t as powerful as some others, they had a basic system of order and rules that, with a bit of refinement, could serve as a solid foundation.
Alabasta, on the other hand, has plenty of untapped potential. It’s an ideal country to align with, and it wouldn’t be difficult to bring them under Dragon’s control.
…
In a courtyard on a rainy day, an eclectic group of people had gathered – individuals with strange and unusual abilities like Mr. 1, who had the power of the Supa Supa no Mi, Miss Doublefinger, who had the power of the Toge Toge no Mi, Mr. 2 Bon Kurei, who could mimic any appearance with his Mane Mane no Mi, and Mr. 3, who had the Doru Doru no Mi.
These were the high-ranking agents of Baroque Works, and they had come together in response to a summons from their deputy director.
Normally, these agents worked in pairs and had never worked together before. They had vastly different personalities, so the atmosphere was tense and uneasy. However, Mr. 1, with his reserved and cool demeanor, kept everyone in check, and no one dared to cross him – at least not physically.
“What kind of mission could it be that requires all of us to be here? I heard that even the President, who never shows himself, will be making an appearance,” someone wondered aloud.
“I don’t know, but it must be a difficult mission if the boss himself is involved,” another replied.
The agents were curious and excited about the prospect of finally seeing their reclusive leader. Even though they were mostly cold and aloof, they couldn’t help but feel a bit of excitement.
“Don’t worry, with all of our Devil Fruit powers, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish,” one agent reassured the others.
“Even that rumored swordsman, Rhodes, wouldn’t stand a chance against our President and our combined strength,” another chimed in confidently.
Miss Valentine, a fashionable beauty with an exaggerated laugh, was especially self-assured.
Just as the agents were discussing their boss and their mission, the courtyard’s gates swung open, and in walked Nico Robin, wearing her signature purple hat.
“Miss All Sunday?” Miss Doublefinger asked impatiently. “What took you so long? Where’s the President?”
Before Robin could reply, a young voice spoke up from behind her, sounding much too young to belong to their elusive leader.
“Here I am.”
The agents turned their heads to see a handsome young man in white clothes standing before them.
“Is this our President?” someone asked in disbelief.
The agents could hardly believe their eyes, they were in complete disbelief. How could the president of Baroque Works be so young after more than a decade since the organization’s founding?
Some whispered if the old president had died and his son had taken over his position. The shock and confusion were palpable among the crowd.
Some began to feel suspicious. A young man in white, holding a sword, with a handsome and elegant appearance; he was just like the legendary dragon-slaying swordsman they had heard about.
Though unsure, Mr.1, as a swordsman, suddenly stood up and said with reverence, “The Dragon Slayer Swordsman!”
“Rhodes!”
At his words, the whole audience was stunned! This name had recently become all the rage in the Grand Line, especially among the swordsmen and the dark world.
They had heard about Rhodes and his many feats from various sources. Killing the dark world overlord, Diamante, the highest member of the Donquixote family! Slaying the legendary beast, the Black Dragon! Killing the ace assassin of the dark world, Nightblade! His list of accomplishments was nothing short of terrifying.
Miss Valentine was left speechless, unable to articulate her thoughts. The rumors were one thing, but seeing Rhodes’s indifferent face and thinking about his impressive record of accomplishments gave her a shiver down her spine.
Miss Doublefinger squinted her eyes and said, “Although we have never met the president in person, we have heard some information about him through the grapevine. We have never heard of him having a child.”
“Since he is not the president’s son, this guy’s age alone makes it impossible for him to be the president of Baroque Works.”
“Moreover, I saw this guy appearing at the headquarters with the intern, Vivi, just a few days ago.”
“Miss All Sunday!”
She looked coldly at Robin, her expression sinister. “It seems that you have betrayed our organization.”
As soon as she spoke, the agents present began to express doubt, and upon closer analysis, they could see the flaws in the story. They looked to Robin for an explanation.
While the Dragon Slayer Swordsman was qualified to be their president in terms of strength, these agents were not naive and could not be easily deceived.
Robin was momentarily stunned by the question, not knowing how to answer. She looked to Rhodes for a response, her thoughts racing.
How would he respond?
Rhodes took a step forward, hands in his pockets, and spoke casually. “You guessed right. I am not your president, nor am I his son.”
“As for your Miss All Sunday, she’s already mine,” declared Rhodes with a sly grin, and the elite agents tensed up with suspicion in their eyes.
They may have been a rebellious bunch, but with so many of them gathered together, they weren’t easily intimidated.
“You don’t seem too happy about that,” Rhodes said, flashing his pearly whites. “I love it when people don’t submit to me.”
“Your power is undeniable, but don’t get too arrogant,” retorted Miss Valentine, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
The elite agents had traveled far and wide, assassinating even high-ranking government officials, and they were naturally quite confident in their abilities.
“I don’t even see you as a threat with your trash skills,” Rhodes said, shaking his head disapprovingly.
Robin watched in trepidation, unsure of Rhodes’ intentions.
At first, she thought Rhodes was using the guise of the president of the Baroque Works to manipulate the group.
But now, Rhodes had revealed his true identity and appeared to be itching for a fight.
Was he trying to force them into submission with his overwhelming strength?
“Did you just call me trash?!” Miss Valentine snarled, her face contorted in anger.
The other agents frowned uncomfortably, for after all, Miss Valentine was their colleague.
“No, no, no! You misunderstood me,” Rhodes said, shaking his head. His gaze swept across the room, and he spoke in an even tone.
“I meant to say that everyone here is trash.”
