The Lord Who Levels Up by Devouring - LLD Chapter 47: Commander of Beasts (1) (Part 1)
To be honest—
‘I didn’t expect it to take the bait so quickly.’
I never imagined the Lycanthrope would bite within a single day.
Understandable, since it needed time to notice Serapia in the first place.
After all, unless it was aware of the bait’s existence, it couldn’t take the bait.
Three days at minimum—that was already a tight estimate.
Yet barely a day had passed. The moment I left the campsite, it went straight for the bait.
This went beyond mere surprise.
It felt like the Lycanthrope had already seen through my plan.
And that, precisely, was how I managed to see through its trap as well.
As I left the camp and descended the snowy mountain, a thought struck me.
The Lycanthrope is currently extremely wary of me.
In other words, it’s highly likely that it’s watching my every move.
If it was observing me closely, then it would’ve naturally noticed Serapia as well.
And once it laid eyes on her, its desire would have surged uncontrollably.
But since I was right beside her, it couldn’t act on that desire.
Now—if I were to leave the camp?
What would the Lycanthrope do next?
The moment that thought connected, I turned around and rushed back to camp.
And, sure enough—
My prediction was spot on.
‘I still don’t get why it attacked Kai instead of Serapia, though.’
Apparently, Kai looked more appealing to the Lycanthrope.
It’s a monster whose mind short-circuits at the sight of a beautiful woman.
And since beauty is subjective, it must have simply preferred Kai’s appearance.
Just like in my past life, when it was obsessed with the Saintess.
“Then and now—you’re the same filthy creature, consumed by perverse desire!”
Even after going back in time, it remained a twisted beast born of madness and lust.
The Lycanthrope, pinned to the ground, thrashed violently beneath me.
My Strength stat was 33.45—enough to rival 33 adult men. I used that to subdue it.
But I couldn’t hold it down completely.
The idea that I could restrain a Lycanthrope with the strength of mere humans—was pure arrogance.
I gripped its scruff tightly and yanked.
Its thick, tough neck wasn’t something I could grab with one hand.
The hide was dense and leathery, and its muscles were compressed like armor.
But before Dragon’s Claw, it was no more than paper.
No matter how powerful, it couldn’t surpass the genes of a dragon.
I sharpened my claws.
Crunch—!
The flesh and hide tore as my fingers dug deep into its neck.
The Lycanthrope’s eyes widened in panic.
It twisted and flailed harder, swiping its claws in wild fury.
Crack—!
A sickening crunch echoed.
But it wasn’t the sound of the Lycanthrope’s neck tearing.
It was my own hands—ripped clean off from its neck and shoulders.
Freed in an instant, the Lycanthrope roared.
GRAAAAAH—!!
It charged at me like a starving predator.
Its claws sliced the air, this time not filled with lust—but pure, murderous intent.
This beast wasn’t just some pervert—it was the Commander of the Beasts.
The distance was too close.
And I had no hands to counter.
In that case—
◆ Combination Skill ‘Metabolic Overdrive [U]’ activated!
◆ Calorie cost – 50,000 Kcal
◆ For [500 seconds], all player stats increase by [+50%]!
Agility surged in an instant. Sensory receptors sharpened beyond normal limits.
Even before my brain could issue commands, my body was already reacting on instinct.
The Lycanthrope’s claws tore through empty air.
I leapt back, never taking my eyes off its movement.
It lunged again— But this time, I was faster.
◆ Skill ‘Nutrient Synthesis [B]’ activated!
◆ Skill ‘Regeneration [B+]’ activated!
My severed hands regenerated[B+] instantly.
And I swung Dragon’s Claw in a wide arc.
The Lycanthrope’s claws clashed with mine—
two deadly forces meeting mid-air.
Splat—! BOOM!
The sound of tearing flesh and an explosion rang out simultaneously.
Kai’s eyes shot wide open.
The first sound was Adrian’s strike tearing through the Lycanthrope’s claws.
The second—was the Lycanthrope staggering from the shock.
In short, Adrian wasn’t being overwhelmed.
But he wasn’t dominating either.
Adrian and the Lycanthrope—
They tore at each other, wounded one another, and unleashed their fury in a savage brawl.
Every time they clashed, the entire mountain seemed to tremble.
It was like watching two wild beasts collide.
‘What… the hell…’
Kai’s eyes filled with disbelief.
He had just fought the Lycanthrope himself—he knew how absurd this sight truly was.
A battle so intense, it made him forget to breathe.
But there was no time to keep watching.
He quickly turned to find Serapia.
She lay unconscious on the ground.
Surrounding her—was a legion of monsters.
Kai gripped his sword and slaughtered the encircling beasts.
He threw himself forward to reach her.
Thankfully—
Serapia was okay.
No visible injuries. No apparent wounds.
But she seemed to have fainted, likely from the pressure of enduring the Lycanthrope’s twisted desire.
Kai hoisted her onto his back.
Then, shedding his disguise, he ripped his thermal stockings and removed the clothes he had been wearing.
Twisting them into makeshift straps, he secured Serapia tightly to his back.
Once done—
He noticed the monster legion had already surrounded him.
They blanketed the snowy mountain like a tide.
Kai double-checked Serapia’s position, then drew his sword once more.
The arrival of the legion changed the equation—
But only by speeding up the plan.
In other words, the strategy remained intact.
Surprisingly, Adrian had accounted for this.
He had predicted the Lycanthrope might bring a legion—and had prepared countermeasures.
So the plan was still valid.
And now, it was his duty as a knight to carry it out.
Kai steadied his breath.
He stepped forward and sharpened his blade with Aura.
His sword, now honed like the fangs of a wolf—
Unleashed rapid, multi-directional strikes.
A flurry of attacks that gave no room for retaliation, plunging the legion into chaos.
Wolf Swordsmanship. First Form.
Dance of Fangs.
Kai’s blue fangs tore through the legion.
