The effort he’d put in over the past few days was a pity, but he couldn’t reveal the secrets of the enhanced 【Akasha System】 or his regression.

“Kill her.”

Yujin said it casually.

“…What, you bastard?”

The response came not from Didaskalia but from Ishia’s mouth.

“Kill who?! You die, you damn psycho!”

“Hm…”

Yujin hadn’t expected to be flustered.

He and Didaskalia blinked at the torrent of crude insults pouring from Ishia’s mouth.

“Fu*king hell, I stuck by you because you seemed useful despite being a piece of shit, and now you’re throwing me away? All you had to do was answer once, and you’re abandoning me? Are you even human? Huh?”

Well, how to put it.

From their first meeting, Yujin had sensed that the Sword Empress was quite different from the image he’d had of her.

“And you! You ugly monster bastard. It’s bad enough you dragged us into this Tower against our will, and now you’re threatening to kill me? Have you no shame? With that shitty face, you’re the one who should drop dead. Sort out your own mess and leave innocent people out of it!”

The barrage of insults continued unabated.

As if she’d die if she stopped talking.

Ishia cursed them both, tears welling in her eyes.

*Pfft—.*

Yujin burst into laughter at the sight.

How to put it…

The image of a woman drenched in monster blood and bodily fluids, hurling insults, was oddly refreshing.

He hadn’t seen anything like it in his first run.

‘This is fun.’

Honestly, it was entertaining.

He’d only planned to train her moderately for use as a slave, but seeing her like this, she might actually be worth keeping around to stave off boredom.

“Hey, you curse them too! Tell those bastards everything you want to say! Don’t just stand there!”

She even egged on Park Jihoo, who was frozen nearby.

“Tch, you trash bastards. G-go d-die.”

“Pffft—hahaha!”

At Park Jihoo’s timid muttering, Yujin couldn’t hold back his laughter any longer.

“What’s so funny? Have you lost your mind?!”

Seeing this, Ishia raised her voice even louder, her anger flaring.

But Yujin no longer paid attention to her curses.

Instead, he turned to Didaskalia with a grin.

“Hey, I’ve changed my mind.”

“…Will you answer, then?”

The administrator, snapping back to attention, glanced warily at Ishia.

“Yeah. It’d be a shame to throw away such entertaining kids.”

It was a bizarre, almost absurd reason, but Didaskalia inwardly sighed with relief.

Killing a player was a significant burden, after all.

Especially an exceptional one who had already surpassed level 20.

“A wise choice.”

As Didaskalia clapped, Yujin spoke.

“Don’t ask anything too troublesome. I might change my mind again.”

“Of course.”

The administrator took a small breath and posed its question.

“Are you a regressor?”

‘Fu*k.’

Yujin hadn’t expected such a direct stab.

He sensed the sinister glint in Didaskalia’s eyes.

If he answered yes, Didaskalia would undoubtedly act without hesitation.

A regressor was an Irregular.

Though a gift directly from the 【Akasha System】, the administrators would choose to kill Yujin to maintain the Tower’s order.

“Don’t bother lying. It won’t work.”

It seemed the administrator had brought an item capable of detecting truth.

Instead of answering, Yujin closed his eyes.

“Answer. If you don’t, as I said, I’ll kill Player Ishia.”

“You bastard!”

Ishia exploded again.

“Hoo—”

Had he finished thinking?

Yujin opened his eyes.

Looking straight into Didaskalia’s gaze, he slowly spoke.

“No.”

“What? Really? No, that can’t be right? Huh?”

The administrator’s face twisted in shock.

And understandably so.

To Didaskalia’s eyes, Yujin showed no signs of lying.

The physical reactions of a liar were clear.

There were even lie detectors designed for that purpose.

The item Didaskalia had brought was far more accurate than any such device.

Yet Yujin’s physical reactions were unchanged from before.

That could only mean one thing.

“Really?”

Staring at Yujin’s calmly beating heart, Didaskalia let out a hollow laugh.

“Satisfied? I answered your one question. Now get lost.”

Yujin pressed the administrator with a heavy gaze.

“Ugh—”

Unable to comprehend, Didaskalia fidgeted before grinding its teeth and flapping its wings.

“I don’t know what’s going on, but a promise is a promise. I’ll back off for today. But this isn’t over! Next time, I’ll definitely—!”

With words befitting a third-rate villain, the administrator’s figure vanished.

At the same time, the atmosphere lightened.

The weight of an administrator’s presence had been subtly pressing down on the entire second floor.

“Hey, what’s over? Our talk is just getting started!”

As Didaskalia disappeared, Ishia rolled up her sleeves and stormed toward Yujin.

“Let’s hear you talk now! What? You were gonna let me die?”

She looked ready to pounce, barely containing her rage.

But—

“Ishia.”

Yujin called her name softly.

“What? What!”

“Do you know CPR?”

CPR.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, in Korean terms.

“Why the hell are you asking that now?”

“If you know it, do it.”

With those words, Yujin collapsed.

His heart had stopped.
